Jim Robinson, MD, is a board certified and nationally recognized neurosurgeon providing leading-edge procedures at his practice, Brain Expert in Atlanta, Georgia. With expertise in cranial microsurgery, Gamma Knife® radiosurgery, and endoscopic cranial surgery, Dr. Robinson’s outcomes consistently and dramatically exceed the national average.
Dr. Robinson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He went on to complete his surgical internship and neurosurgical residency at the renowned Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. While there, he also completed a research fellowship in epilepsy surgery.
More recently, he proudly earned an Executive Master of Business Administration, finishing first in his class at Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Robinson has participated as a Principle Investigator on several successful clinical trial initiatives. As Founder and President of Atlanta Brain and Spine Care, he became recognized as a leader in minimal access spinal surgery and cranial microsurgery.
Dr. Robinson served as Chief of Neurosurgery and Chairman of the Neurosciences Department at Piedmont Hospital. He was also the Medical Director of the Piedmont Gamma Knife Center, where he was recognized for high-quality care.
After taking a sabbatical that gave him the opportunity to serve the poor in developing countries and to pursue research and development in neurosurgery, Dr. Robinson returned to Atlanta to open his practice, Brain Expert.
Dr. Robinson is a Fellow of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and an active member of many prestigious organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In addition to authoring numerous textbook chapters and journal articles as well as presenting his research at professional meetings, he has taught advanced techniques to other surgeons.
He stays active in organizations such as Honduras Outreach, Inc., Medication Radiation Centers, LLC, and a social entrepreneurship project to Latin America. Dr. Robinson and his wife also created the Beams of Hope Foundation to continue his mission work, providing care for impoverished brain tumor patients.
