We have received a few calls recently asking if we are open, and the answer is yes! We have been working hard to come up with the best solutions for keeping our patients and staff as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes listed below are effective immediately, and will be in effect until further notice. As always, we appreciate your continued support so very much and welcome your call if you have any further questions. You can reach our office at 523-8888.
* Please contact our office as soon as possible before your appointment if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath), have traveled within the last 14 days, and/or have concerns for possible exposure.
* Counseling patients: If you are scheduled for an in-person visit with our counselor, you will be notified of new check-in/check-out procedures prior to your appointment. Counseling patients will be allowed direct entry to the counseling room at time of appointment via the back door. You should wait in your vehicle for the front desk to call you to let you know that the room is ready. Please do not knock on the back door, as we do not want any sessions in progress to be interrupted.
* Both medical and counseling patients will have access to phone/video appointments when appropriate.
* Most of our wellness/annual exams will be rescheduled for a later date. Wellness exams are a very important part of maintaining your overall health, so we will work hard to keep you on track!
* We are clustering our appointments to make better use of our staffing resources. You may be contacted for an appointment change. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
* Saturday office hours will be temporarily ended. We will resume Saturday scheduling as soon as possible.
* We are also able to schedule time for you to speak with a provider via phone/video about strategies to boost your immune system.

We are so excited to announce that Deana Darnall, APRN, will now be offering colposcopy services at our clinic! Deana is highly experienced in this procedure with several years of experience. She has been providing specialized care to women in Juneau for decades.
(Colposcopy is an in-office procedure that uses a special scope to closely examine a woman's cervix, vagina and vulva for abnormalities. Small samples (biopsies) are taken from abnormal areas and sent to a lab for testing. This procedure is generally recommended by a provider when a pap smear requires further follow-up.)

We would like to wish each and every one of you a safe and happy holiday season. We have so many exciting things happening right now, and are thankful that we get to share these with you!
We have hired two Certified Medical Assistants: Wendy Germain-Toupin and Dawn Wehe. These ladies have been amazing in helping us to care for our patients!
Joanna Goldman, APRN, will be joining us in just a couple of weeks. Joanna has been caring for women in Juneau for decades. She provided excellent care to her patients at Wellspring for several years, and then most recently at Earthsong. We are so excited to have her work with us, and know that so many of her patients will be happy to find out that she is still practicing! Joanna will be seeing patients on Thursdays and Saturdays starting in January. She is accepting new patients.
Tammy Guiler, LCSW, is an experienced counselor who will be joining us later in January, as well. Tammy will be seeing child and adult patients, both male and female. We are already scheduling appointments for her. She does have a few openings available, so feel free to give us a call if you are interested in seeing her! We will post more information on her services in the coming weeks.
You will see a new face at the front desk: Mia Hines. Mia joined us a couple of weeks ago, and will be working with our current front desk ladies, Tara and Jennifer.
We are in the process of working with Dr. Andrea Iverson to bring biomagnetism therapy to our clinic! We will post more information on this in the coming days.
Deana Darnall, APRN, has a few openings, as well, and will begin offering colposcopy services later this month. Deana is very experienced in women's health issues, and has also had extensive training in Functional Medicine!
We are almost done with the remodeling, and hope you've had the chance to come by and see our hard work. We are working to fine tune our office, and make it a great place to be for our patients and our staff members. Thank you so much for your patience as we go through these changes.

Thank you all for your continued support!! As a reminder, we are open Monday through Friday, 9:00-5:30, and closed for lunch 12:30-1:30 each day. We also have afterhours availability for virtual visits.
Right now, we are seeing a pretty rapid turnaround on COVID testing, generally 2-3 days. We are also doing COVID antibody tests, which usually result within 5-7 days. We are doing several COVID travel screenings for patients in-office. However, if you do have any symptoms or concern for active infection, we do ask that you inform our front desk when making your appointment so that we can come to your vehicle for your swab!
Over the last few weeks we've had an increase in patients coming in for migraines, which is something that, as a fellow migraine sufferer, I am very passionate about. We have IV rehydration available, which can often be helpful, as well as several available non-narcotic medications that we can give on-site to help ease your migraine pain and symptoms. Just make sure to bring a driver with you! You should go to the ER if you are experiencing the worst headache you've ever had, or if you have new, concerning symptoms associated with your migraine. Most typical migraines can be treated in our office, saving you a trip to the ER!
