BCI's technical staff from the Lexington Office visited the construction site today for the City of Nicholasville Police Headquarters. Eric Chambers, AIA took staff to the job site to see real-life application of the technical drawings they produce every day. This project is utilizing ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) and CMU (Conrete Masonry Unit) construction.

Wow - we're delighted to announce that Blue Ash Wading Pool has won a 2020 Dream Design Award from Aquatics International. The family aquatics center collaborated with Brandstetter Carroll Inc renovating its under-utilized wading pool to better engage its littlest guests. Working within a very tight space, the addition of #Splashpad features, #Elevations structure and #WaterJourney The Race, has completely transformed the facility.

BCI is excited to present the South Plainfield Community Pool which opened last Saturday. We were able to work with the City of South Plainfield, NJ on the $2.6 million renovation while keeping 50% of the original pool built in 1967. With the renovation this pool now has 12,000 sf of water surface, 17,000 sf of new deck space and now over 20,000 sf of grass beach areas. Some other features include 2 water slides, 2 climbing walls, in pool shade spots and a vortex pool! #BCIAquatics #FunInTheSun #TheBCIWay

Today, Shawn Butler from the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police recognized our own Bluegrass 911 Communications Center for being one of just 16 dispatch centers in Kentucky to meet their rigid accreditation standards. We are also by far the smallest center who has obtained this distinction, with the next smallest being Elizabethtown.
Our 911 center is a part of county government that we can be extremely proud of as Garrard Countians. We were the first county in Ky to consolidate services with an adjoining county, and have saved well over a million dollars of taxpayer money while providing far better services since we took this historic step with Lincoln County more than a decade ago. When we opened, our efforts were recognized as a model by the National Association of Counties, and we have received numerous awards in Kentucky since that time.
I have served as Chairman of Bluegrass 911 for many years, and know first hand why our center is considered one the best dispatch centers in Kentucky, with a highly trained staff, state of the art equipment and a building that’s designed to withstand an F5 tornado. But none of this would be possible without the commitment from the elected officials from both counties, and, most importantly, the staff at Bluegrass 911. Congratulations!!!
