I've had several phone calls this week with homeowners that are in transition (Whether in between cities, jobs or moving to a new home that construction isn't finished yet)
They are needing Short Term Rentals - Some in Gwinnett and a few in Barrow... This isn't something that I work with a lot, HOWEVER, it looks like the need is greater during the upcoming holiday season....
With all that is happening with COVID, and now we are approaching the Holiday Season - if you are an owner and have a property that you want to consider leasing (whether it be short or long term) please feel free to reach out..

In the North Gwinnett and South Hall area, Georgia Power now has more than 4,400 customers without power.
Jackson EMC now has approximately 8k customers without power at the moment.
Please be aware that if your power goes out for Jackson EMC or Georgia Power, they will not work on their lines until the winds die down.
We are not yet at our peak in wind gusts.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for our area tonight and tomorrow . I’ve covered more Hurricanes and tropical storms than I can rattle off in the last 15 or so years .
Here is a checklist I try to remember, especially for nighttime storms: Although some are likely better for major Cat rated storms than something like we will see — can’t hurt.
1: Sleep someplace with no or as few windows as possible . Put a bike helmet on kids ( and even yourself ).
2: Charge all your phones and electronics before the storm hits. Make sure batteries are close by and you know where flashlights are.
3: Fill bathtub with water in case water system goes out .( not likely in a tropical storm in a major metro area but why not? )
4 : Fill a cooler with ice in case electricity goes out.
5: Something you will appreciate if damage does occur. Make sure you have shoes either on or right nearby for you and kids . Also car keys etc. Rushing around trying to find shoes after tree has smashed your roof or window is no fun.
Stay safe. Hopefully it’s advice you will never need .

Severe Weather Possible Thursday Night into Friday
The Bottom Line: A strong storm system will approach Georgia Thursday night into Friday. This system has the capability of producing a few strong to severe storms with the possibility of an isolated tornado along and south of the I-20 corridor. In addition, heavy rain will be possible, north of the I-85 corridor in Northern Georgia.

CHRISTMAS STAR TONIGHT🌠
Tonight's the night you can see the Great Conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn in the early evening sky! You want to look low on the southwest horizon roughly between about 5 and 7pm this evening (the sky will be clearing out for this).
Jupiter and Saturn will be closer than they've been at conjunction (happens every 20 years or so) since 1623. In 1623, sunlight would have made viewing the conjunction impossible -- so the last time we've seen the two planets this close and it was visible from earth is 1226!
The planets will still be very far apart, but from our perspective here they will essentially merge -- making the "star" extra bright in the sky.
