It is with great joy that we announce the retirement of Captain Vincent Probst after working for more than 20 years with Plant City Fire Rescue!
Captain Probst was presented his retirement ax by Chief Burnett and the members of his shift on his last shift today. Chief Burnett shared, “Captain Probst has made a great impact on our department and has helped make Plant City Fire Rescue a better place.”
Captain Probst started his career with Plant City Fire Rescue on August 21, 2000, and worked his way up in the department to the rank of Captain. Through the years, Captain Probst has worked with and inspired many of the firefighters at Plant City Fire Rescue through his vast knowledge and teachings.
Captain Probst said, “I wanted to make a difference when I made Plant City Fire Rescue my home, and I believe I did.” After his retirement, he is going to continue to work as a fire instructor at Hillsborough Community College Fire Academy, and pursue his favorite hobby as a pilot by working towards being a flight instructor. We wish him the very best in his retirement!
