Dr. Shelmadine, originally from Alliance, Neb., moved to South Dakota in 2019 after completing his Sports Medicine Fellowship at John Peter Smith Health in Fort Worth, Texas. His practice includes sports medicine, interventional spine medicine, as well as manual therapy and manual treatments and other routine inpatient and outpatient procedures. Dr. Shelmadine is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Condition Association. He enjoys helping patients of all ages and has special interests in helping pediatric athletes and those experiencing over-use injuries. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Shelmadine holds a doctorate in exercise, nutrition, and preventive health and is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with his wife and four children.
