Many people are using more Disinfecting wipes than usual recently, and we wanted to create a bit of awareness around wipes in general. Disinfecting wipes, Baby wipes, even wipes that are actually advertised as “Flushable wipes”... should NOT be flushed. When flushed, wipes cause significant problems at Wastewater Treatment Facilities and in septic systems. We all know, some from experience, that many things can be flushed (little green army guys, matchbox cars, retainers, jewelry...) but shouldn’t be... Please add wipes to this list. Our Wastewater Treatment Facility employees thank you.

Flushable wipes are anything but helpful, these wipes clog up pipes, septic systems, our hoses and the treatment plant! Best plan is to throw them in the trash.
