This morning our Toddlers worked on our color recognition and practiced counting. At the table the children were given four different leaves in three different color each. We had, yellow, green, and orange. We first attempted to sort the leaves by color and with the older children we tried to sort them by types. The children were also encouraged to count the leaves throughout the activity.

Our Toddler 2 classroom revisited a classroom favorite—Hidden Colors! They mixed food coloring to make orange, purple and green and hid it underneath baking soda inside a small paint tray. Next they poured vinegar over it to watch the ingredients foam and reveal their colors! This is a great activity to practice and strengthen fine motor skills and color science.
