Celebrating student success. Congratulations Year 6 Laila awarded the special Head of Primary privilege of taking home our Bulldog! In IPC ‘Being Human’, the Year 6 students have been learning all about the body. Today the children learned about the heart, the different parts and how it functions. Laila wrote a wonderful diary entry from a drop of blood’s point of view, telling the story of the blood’s journey through the heart and lungs and back to the body. Yahya and Amina have been awarded the Bulldogs for their excellent learning about the digestive system. They learnt about the digestive system through a STEAM activity and then wrote to Santa to explain the incredible journey of Santa’s mince pie.

The 6th of December was Nikolaustag! Our German Mother Tongue Programme #NAEAchievers celebrated this special day.
All the children had been good and received a little present from “Nikolaus”. Nikolaus was amazed by the poems and leporellos our students had prepared.
Am 6. Dezember war Nikolaustag! Die Kinder vom Deutschunterricht haben den besonderen Tag gefeiert.
Sie waren alle artig und haben alle ein kleines Geschenk vom Nikolaus bekommen. Der war zuvor in der Schule und hat die Kinder per Video gegrüßt.
Der Nikolaus war von den Gedichten und den Leporellos, die die Kinder geschrieben haben, sehr begeistert.

Following their work on the text, students were asked to write a PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link) paragraph. Congratulations to Year 4 Henri for using the paragraph structure and interesting sentence openers to write about the impact on the wildlife. Amazing work from Year 4 Rebecca who used the paragraph structure, carefully considered her word choices and thoughtfully wrote a rhetorical question.

The results are in! Impressive results by Yining & Viola; both achieving a medal in the Canadian Senior & Intermediate Mathematics competition (respectively) placing in the top 20% of worldwide entries.
A huge shout out to Harrison, Fowwaz & Avliash, they sat the intermediate challenge, competing with the years 10 and 11 and achieved some impressing results. Avilash placed fifth out of the 20 students that competed at #BISHouston (17 of them in the years above).
