WAY BACK WEDNESDAY! Back in 1992 when BRIXEN & SONS first opened as a LARGE FORMAT PRINTER & builder of CUSTOM POP DISPLAYS, we had a Cincinatti One-Arm 4’x8’ manual silkscreen press and about a year later we purchased a semi-automatic 60” x 40” clamshell Thieme press. When DIGITAL printing was first introduced, we jumped right in with the newest innovation at the time, an ELECTROSTATIC digital printer! What a mess! LOLOLOL. Nordstrom is open for DINE-IN on their OUTDOOR PATIOS! And Brixen & Sons produced and installed banners to let the public know. At one store that needed a banner, our team noticed that the façade was not the usual concrete surface we were expecting, but was a tile that could not be repaired correctly if we were to drill into it. We made the decision to postpone the install and suggest using a removable vinyl decal instead. Turned out that the material was imported tile from Germany and would have been permanently damaged had we gone forward. Thumbs up to the team on making the right call! The sign was only delayed one day while we made the removable decal and installed the next day.

BRIXEN & SONS feels privileged to be to be a part of the team that produced and installed this unique pop-in at the Rodeo Drive LV store in Beverly Hills, CA. The large photo is Louis Vuitton’s historic home and atelier located in the Paris suburb, Asnières-sur-Seine. Vuitton built the famed residence in the Seine-side suburb in 1959. Though the family moved out of the home in 1964, the atelier remained in business, specializing in hard-sided luggage and, perhaps most importantly, housing the brand’s vast archive.

We’re thankful to Nordstrom for trusting us with the entire January window roll out for 100 stores! We take a lot of pride at Brixen & Sons for matching colors on multiple materials, perfecting printed gradients, creating metallics, exploring ink opacities and working to make the life of our customers as easy as possible at the best possible cost. These January windows had plenty of those challenges using metallics, Falconboard, acrylic, static cling, and creating dimensional illusions with simple bump-off blocks. The project also had a lot of what we call “print/cut/ship", which is our favorite kind of job! Happy New Year everyone, hang in there 🙂
