Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women
🌸Nearly 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with this disease and the risk nearly doubles if you have an immediate close relative (mother, aunt, sister, daughter) with it.
🌸Although rare, men can also get breast cancer as well.
🌸Factors that increase the risk of breast cancer are being overweight/obese, a sedentary lifestyle, drinking more than 1 alcoholic beverage a day, family history, excessive radiation exposure, and using hormone replacement therapy after menopause.
🌸Preventive measures include monthly self breast examinations 1 week after the start of your menstrual cycle, seeing a doctor for any lump in your breast or armpit, mammograms starting at the age of 40 and even earlier if you have a family history of breast cancer!
