📌 Hurricane Isaias Update 📌
We are monitoring the storm and have a detailed emergency preparedness plan in place to try and address all aspects of an emergency situation. Our coastal communities are equipped with water, food, onsite or ready-to-deploy generators, and supplies, including an adequate supply of face coverings, hand sanitizer and disinfectants to care for residents.
Our primary goal is to help ensure the ongoing safety of our residents. At this time, there is no call for evacuations. We are taking appropriate actions to keep residents safe throughout the storm and following the guidance and direction of authorities when it comes to potential evacuations.

Barbara V. was selected as Brookdale Altamonte Springs’ September 2020 Everyday Hero. Barbara, who joined our team in June 2017, after working in the same role at Brookdale Ocoee for 15 years, serves as our full-time front desk receptionist. She is the first friendly face everyone sees when entering our community and she’s always, courteous and diligent in helping others. She has made extra efforts to keep our residents safe and happy!
Under the leadership and direction of David Wayne as its Executive Director for the past 4 years, the health and safety of the residents at Brookdale Altamonte Springs is the focus of all the associates every day! David always stresses the importance of building strong relationships with the residents as is evident also by his hands-on approach and wants to ensure they are having fun and learning new things while creating additional lifetime memories. Through all the hard work, determination, and commitment of his entire team, the community reached 100% occupancy in 2018 for the first time in its community’s history!

Today, we held a special ceremony to recognize and honor the veterans and surviving spouses living at Brookdale Altamonte Springs and their fellow military men and women.
Resident Thomas W., who grew up in Detroit, Michigan spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. After 3 years in Chandler, Arizona, Tom served as an Air Traffic Controller in the Korean War. He earned 4 medals – the National Defense Award, Korean Service Award, Good Conduct Medal and Korea/United Nations Award.
Brookdale Altamonte Springs’ salutes Thomas and all this country’s veterans for their dedicated service, sacrifice, and commitment to our country.
Brookdale Altamonte Springs’ resident Philip J. Jr. proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years.
February 21, 1945, could have been the last day of his 19-year old life as 18 Kamikazes attacked his ship - the U.S.S. Saratoga - off the coast of Iwo Jima during WWII. The four-hour battle resulted in 318 casualties and if the Kamikaze’s aim was 3-feet to the right, Philip and his mates would have been killed.
Our community is planning to recognize and celebrate Philip and our other 44 veterans and surviving spouses on Veterans Day with a special ceremony. We are all thankful for the service and sacrifice of all of those who served in the armed forces yesterday and today!
Today we're celebrating resident Louise M.'s 90th birthday! Louise and her husband of 70 years, Raymond, have lived in Brookdale Altamonte Springs since 2019.
Our management team is always ready to assist our residents and do whatever it takes to keep the community - our residents' home - clean and beautiful. That includes David, our Executive Director, putting the finishing touches on pressure cleaning the exterior of our community.
Michelle was selected as our community’s October 2020 Everyday Hero. Michelle, one of our great LPNs, joined our team in May 2020. Her nursing career spans 27 years and we’re thankful for her outstanding work ethic, team approach and overall care of our residents. Congratulations Michelle!

Our executive director, managers, and associates were ready and willing this past weekend when our vaccine team arrived on the scene. One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
Dakari was selected as our December 2020 Everyday Hero. He has worked in the dining services department at Brookdale Lake Mary and Brookdale Altamonte Springs since 2014. Dakari is a very conscientious associate and puts the residents first with everything he does. He has a very positive attitude and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Congratulations Dakari!
Our residents enjoyed their recent visit with Santa and they all received a present donated by the Wayne Densch Foundation.
