Today was "Gratitude is Ageless" Day so we took some goodies from our Brookdale kitchen to one of our doctors' offices. We are so grateful for all those who take such good care of our residents!
Ever since we've been permitted to take rides on the bus, we have been taking trips down memory lane...literally. Each week we drive around one of our resident's "old stomping grounds". It has been so much fun! This week we drove to Xenia, OH to see the Carnegie Library that our Mr. Gene saved from being torn down. He bought the library and moved his family into the basement of it! It is still standing today and a part of the Historical Society, thanks to Mr. Gene!

We celebrated Oktoberfest today! We had soft pretzels with cheddar cheese beer dip as an appetizer, then for the main course, Spritzel German macaroni and cheese, beer-battered breaded sourkraut meatballs, potato pancakes, and collard greens. The dessert was Barbarian cream and of course German beer to drink! Thanks to our new chef Juan for the 'Kostlich' (that's delicious in German) meal! 😋
