Brookdale associate, Lynda, showcasing her signs of gratitude she made in preparation for Saturdays Gratitude is Ageless Parade. This will be the first parade held in Kennewick this year. The parade will be led by the Kennewick Police Department, Fire Department, Mayor and other community servants. Family members, friends and members of the community are the highlight of the drive-thru parade.

Prior to COVID, a group of residents would always meet for their weekly knitting, crocheting, and quilting club. They didn’t let COVID stop them from meeting though, instead, they moved their group online to Zoom. Every Saturday they are able to catch up and show off what they have been working on.
Featured here is Punkie, and a beanie she knitted to donate to the hospital for newborns.
What would fall be without the pumpkin patch? We did a pop-up pumpkin patch and brought the experience here for the residents to enjoy. I think the smiles behind the masks says it all. There’s a certain joy that comes with picking your own pumpkin.
Our Oktoberfest celebration was a huge success. Residents were able to enjoy live Oompah music courtesy of Pat, ice-cold beer on tap thanks to Ice Harbor, and warm pretzels with cheese thanks to our wonderful dining team, all from inside.
Our campus-wide, Gratitude is Ageless parade was such a heartwarming experience. It’s a pleasure to be able to share this video that conveys a true sense of community. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the day extra special.

One of the ways we have been using technology to keep residents connected with their neighbors is by selecting, as a group, what programs to view and discuss together. This week the vote was for The World’s Greatest Churches virtual tour. Friday at 2:00pm we will be discovering more about these masterpieces of architecture.
Brookdale Canyon Lakes' 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held for residents on October 11th at 2:00p.m.

Virtual Knitting Group Makes a Difference
We had a spooktacular Halloween weekend.
Our spaghetti feed was a success! We raised over $300 for the American Heart Association, and residents were able to enjoy a 5-course meal at home that did not disappoint.
This week we are hosting a Creative for Life art exhibit. All week long resident artwork is on display in our community club for everyone to enjoy at scheduled times. Pictured here is resident artist Leroy giving an artist lecture on his woodwork.
