Fall is in the air at Chambrel Pinecastle. The residents will be making fall wreaths for their doors on Tuesday in Crafters Club.
Our Beauty Shop has reopened! Everyone is happy that Carol is back. The residents are enjoying their new hairstyles,
Activities Assistant, Virginia, visits residents during National Assisted Week with the Booty Box.
Chambrel Residents made Fall greeting cards in Crafter’s Club Thursday. Arts and Crafts are a great way to keep fine motor skills in tune.
Residents and associates decorated face masks as we celebrated National Assisted Living Week. The associates voted for their favorite masks in each category. Jean won a nice door decoration for the best resident mask. Lynn and Virginia tied for the best associate mask. They were awarded Brookdale Bucks. We will wear them to a Mask-a-Rade Party next month!
Carol shows off the bling she won at Blingo. We play every Friday at 1:30.
Mary is getting ready for cooler weather by knitting scarfs. She will knit you one if you provide the yarn. If interested, you may contact Resident Programs Director, Lynn at 352-368-7710.
Chambrel‘s grandparents were asked to participate in a Grandparent Survey for fun. Here are the results from those that participated: Having the most grandchildren and being the youngest grandparents went to Tom & Judy. Being the oldest grandfather went to Paul, having the most great-great-grandchildren went to Lois, and being the oldest grandmother went to Irma.
Our residents enjoy the cooler morning temperatures while outside by our pool.
Kelly, our new resident programs coordinator, mixes Bloody Marys for residents out by the pool Friday morning. The weather was perfect and so were the drinks. Chambrel is happy to have Kelly on our fantastic team!
Pete, Chambrel’s maintenance director, served in the Army as a paratrooper during Desert Storm. We are thankful for your service to our country and to Brookdale Chambrel.

Barbara was one of our hostesses at our first sip n stroll social. Residents were invited to socialize and meet new residents. It was a great success. We plan to schedule another one during the holidays.
Veterans and their spouses enjoyed the Veterans Day luncheon.
Chambrel celebrated Veterans Day throughout the day with several events. Below are pictures from our 1st Annual Luncheon. Chef Wendy and her team did an amazing job with help from Resident Programs.
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
Pigs, pigs, and more pigs...Carol loves pigs! She has quite the collection and it all started when her mother bought the pig she is pointing to and holding, in Miami at an art show. That one little piggy led to another and need we say more? When purchasing a new pig for her collection, she looks at their faces. If they make her smile, he/she comes home with her!
Chambrel residents and staff started to receive their COVID vaccinations on Monday. Shirley enjoys a drink, that was served for Martini Monday, as she waits her turn. She jokingly said I’ll have a shot before my shot! We will continue the vaccinations on Thursday.
The Festival of Doors first place was awarded to Shirley, who not only had beautiful decorations outside her apartment but decorated her entire apartment. She said it really made her feel she was at home.
Chambrel held a Festival of Doors to celebrate the holiday season. Below, Joan and Carol walk through the community to vote for their favorite three doors.
Chambrel residents wrap adult coloring books and pencils that were donated as a Passion Project from the First-grade classes at South Ocala’s Elementary School. The children also donated activity books and socks. The socks will be given out to the residents on Christmas Eve when we play "Sock it to me Santa Bingo". Thank you South Ocala First-grade for your passion that has brought us so much joy.
