We started offering a country ride on our bus. Of course, safety is first, residents are socially distanced on the bus, and it departs and arrives at our front door without stopping in between. This gives residents a chance to get out and see the sights in Central New York. The pictures below show our friends Irma, Helen, and Alice on their way out on an adventure. There are also pictures of what they saw along the way! We are eager for the days we can take a full bus, but safety is always first.

Part of living an optimum life is being able to stay involved in democracy and civic affairs - especially as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment (woman's right to vote). At Brookdale Clinton, we are helping our residents prepare for the election in November. We have voter registration forms for folks who have moved to Brookdale Clinton since they last voted and absentee ballot applications for those who want to be safe and vote from home in these uncertain times. We are prepared to help residents meet New York State's October deadlines - 9th (voter registration) and the 27th (absentee ballot request). At Brookdale Clinton exercising our right to vote is ageless.

At Brookdale Clinton (IL) we share our campus with a Claire Bridge Community that partners closely with our local Alzheimer's Association Chapter for caregiver support and fundraising efforts. Our entire campus shows purple for this great cause! While this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events will be different, they continue to be deeply meaningful. They continue to help raise awareness about the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. They continue to help raise funds that make a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s. Brookdale Senior Living Inc. continues to be one of the largest corporate supporters of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year, thousands of Brookdale associates, residents, and patients are participating in or supporting virtual walks across the country.
