Lila is always the artist when entering her room especially when she sits at her desk and enjoys coloring as her form of meditation. It is a wonderful way to relax and let everything else be what it is and still express gratefulness.
Grace begins another puzzle in her room and puts together the red bird among the other puzzle pieces and it was only natural that the bird should rest on her hand. She is glad that creativity keeps the mind alive!
The Beauty Shop opened up and those that could, got their hair cut after letting it grow for 5-6 months. Smiles grew on faces when the task was completed. Everyone was happy and joyful about getting their hair washed, cut, and styled. Gratitude broke out everywhere!
A small group of residents joined together for the Rosh Hashanah, Jewish new year, here at Brookdale Deer Creek. It was a joyous occasion as the Rabbi was able to come and visit them with songs and words of hope and prayer. The residents were grateful to meet together. As well Ben received his pamphlet from the Rabbi and quietly read it in the hall outside his room and was very glad to have received it. It was a wonderful time together as everyone came together for a joyous occasion.
For National Assisted Living Week, the Kona Ice Truck came to Brookdale Deer Creek to encourage our essential workers that are here every day and to give them a cool treat of appreciation. Thank you all for your work ethic and care that you give our residents, on a daily basis.
Hallway B-Fit small group activity is seen here at Brookdale Deer Creek. Residents move a muscle to change a thought, work their brains with puzzles and riddles, and receive a social interaction as they remain engaged and alert. There is always a smile to give at Brookdale Deer Creek, and we are glad to give it!

Everyone was so happy to receive a bag with a certificate, an American Flag, as well as a pin to wear. Our men and women at Brookdale Deer Creek thanked us as we thanked them for keeping our Nation free; one Nation under God with liberty and justice for all.
Lila celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday with us at Brookdale Deer Creek. A little family, a little food, and a whole lot of celebration continued throughout the day. Thank you, Lila, for letting us celebrate with you. Happy 100th Birthday! We wish you the best of years ahead.

It was a big vaccination day at Brookdale Deer Creek as residents from Assisted Living and Memory Care, associates, and Brookdale's Nurses on Call received the first shot of the vaccination for the sake of the cure! High spirits and cheers came from everyone who participated with the help of CVS who worked with us as we rolled up our sleeves and took the shot in the arm. Thank you to all who participated. Thank you to all of our families who helped with the paperwork and to Brookdale and CVS for making it happen. Sincere gratitude goes out to everyone.
