We had a great time during the month of August! There were many birthdays to celebrate and mornings finally cooled down enough to enjoy B-Fit Exercise in the courtyard. We are excited to have had a huge number of virtual visits and they were a great highlight for the residents.

Baking happened this week. Specialty was dump cakes this week. Peach dump cake with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, peach pie filling, white cake mix and butter was enjoyed on Wednesday. Thursday was cherry dump cake with cherry pie filling, butter yellow cake mix and butter. The overwhelming favorite was cherry dump cake. Both were enjoyed with whipped cream.
When you can't go sky diving (too windy and cold today), you do the next best thing. Getting exercise in with the parachute is super fun and quite the cardio workout.
When Bill and Louise began considering senior living options for Bill's sister, Pam, the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine became a major point of interest for their next steps. Now, after receiving the vaccine and transitioning to her new community, Pam is an official resident of Brookdale Cary.
The CDC strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccine and it’s so important that as many people as possible get vaccinated. We will be having our second vaccine clinic on February 9th for community residents and associates who are interested in receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. January has flown by. Residents have been enjoying the hairdresser, happy hours with good things to eat, and today the monthly birthday party.
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
