As fall has arrived here at Brookdale Echelon Lake, so has our fall decor. If you care to take in an afternoon on the back patio while watching the lake, you'll be able to enjoy our beautiful decor. We welcome everyone to visit.
In honor of Assisted Living Week, we here at Brookdale Echelon Lake are taking the time to say THANK YOU to our associates. We had a luncheon for the associates as well as THANK YOU cards and presents from the residents. The residents were asked if they could write thank you notes for associates included are a couple of samples. Associates enjoyed this day in celebration of Assisted Living Week.
We at Brookdale Echelon Lake were able to have a socially distanced Grandparent's Day. To all our residents who are grandparents or have been surrogate grandparents, HAPPY GRANDPARENT'S DAY. To all our family and friends who are grandparents, we wish you a happy Grandparent's Day as well. We had muffins to celebrate. What a yummy way to celebrate.
Here are some finished products from our small group art project. Citrus Stamps! You use citrus fruit, we used lemons, limes, and oranges; the "paint" is Kool-Aid powder drinks. Not only are they beautiful paintings, but they also give off a slightly fruity smell. The residents had a ball doing this craft.

It's a nice cool, bright, sunny day here at Brookdale Echelon Lake. We are starting our family visits in our "Oasis" tent. A nice place to visit with loved ones and catch up on how things are going for each family. Self-Care for Caregivers During Coronavirus
Pets can be a great way for our residents to stay engaged. Here at Brookdale Echelon Lake in Voorhees, New Jersey we have 2 residents who have personal pets.
First, we have Margaret and her cat, Gigi. Gigi has been a part of Margaret's life for over 6 years. She was an adopted pet from a Delaware Animal Rescue program. Gigi's favorite things are being groomed and petted as well as being held while Margaret is sleeping. She is a good-natured, sweet gentle cat. Both Margaret and Gigi have been residents of Echelon Lake for over 2 1/2 years.
Second, Berneice (Sara) and her parakeet, Joey. Sara is not sure how old Joey is but they both have been here at Echelon Lake for 4 years. Joey likes to talk with Sara throughout the day. Sara has a conversation with Joey every night to let him it's time for bed as she covers him for the night. Sara and her husband had pets, mostly cats, before they adopted Joey.
As a building, we here at Echelon Lake also have our outdoor "pets", the ducks and Canadian Geese who make the lake their home. On most days, you can find them on the lake or walking the grounds. What a wonderful place to live.

What better way to spend some time on our snowy first day of February! We offered a hot chocolate bar to our associates. Many came to enjoy a nice hot chocolate while watching the snow.
Today was an exciting day here at Brookdale Echelon Lake, we had our first Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic. Residents and Staff were excited to be doing our part to protect ourselves and those around us. As we celebrated doing our part, we made sure the Brookdale Heroes were protected and socially distancing for this event. Let's hear it for our Heroes who took the first step today.
Today was a special Birthday visit for one of our Brookdale Echelon Lake residents. We had the Birthday Girl in the building and receiving Birthday Greetings from her family on the phone. She was excited to see her family on this special day.
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
