Residents will remain in their temporary accommodations until officials approve the return home. Only when the area has been declared safe for return and the building assessed and cleaned, would we be able to return residents to their home community.
When that happens, we would make that announcement on our Brookdale Newsroom, in addition to contacting the residents that left with friends or families. Returns have not been cleared at this time.

We are continuously monitoring the conditions and continue to make decisions regarding evacuations based on caution and safety in regard to our residents.
We are actively monitoring the area that our Brookdale community is in. Evacuation plans will always be shared here and on our Brookdale Newsroom. While there may be an evacuation order within the county of your loved oneβs community that does not necessarily mean the location of your loved oneβs community is within that specific zone.
The safest option is for residents to be sheltering in place in locations out of the higher risk zones unless otherwise directed by authorities.
We are taking appropriate actions to keep them safe throughout the storm and will update our Newsroom and community Facebook page with any necessary updates regarding the status of the storm and/or our community. For the most accurate information, please visit our Brookdale Newsroom here:

Important Note Regarding Residents Returning to Brookdale Lake Charles:
We have been working with a team on repairs to our community following the damage caused by Hurricane Laura in August. Unfortunately, Hurricane Delta recently caused some additional damage to the Lake Charles area, including our community. We want to assure you that we are working with the proper teams to address any additional property damage. In the meantime, our residents will remain in their temporary accommodations until we have been able to complete the repairs to the community. When that happens, our Brookdale Lake Charles leadership team will be in direct contact with residents and their appointed contact to notify of the process for returning to the community.
We appreciate your support and patience during this time. We look forward to the day when we can welcome everyone back home to Brookdale Lake Charles.
