Important Note Regarding Residents Returning to Brookdale Lake Charles: We have been working with a team on repairs to our community following the damage caused by Hurricane Laura in August. Unfortunately, Hurricane Delta recently caused some additional damage to the Lake Charles area, including our community. We want to assure you that we are working with the proper teams to address any additional property damage. In the meantime, our residents will remain in their temporary accommodations until we have been able to complete the repairs to the community. When that happens, our Brookdale Lake Charles leadership team will be in direct contact with residents and their appointed contact to notify of the process for returning to the community. Even with gloomy weather outside, we are living it up. Want to know why? It's because Friday at Brookdale means Happy Hour at Brookdale.
The residents got together this week and decided to treat themselves to some homemade strawberry and banana cream cheese pudding. Just reading the name of the dish makes your mouth water.
We are so thankful that Brookdale Mandeville has welcomed us through not 1 but 2 hurricanes.
The residents had so much fun becoming apothecaries. They made soaps with handcrafted mixtures of scents and ingredients. It may have taken us two days and there may have been a mess or two but it was definitely worth it.
Monday, November 9th was National Louisiana Day, so our residents spent the past few days celebrating with some of the things that make Louisiana great. They did everything from making pecan pralines to indulging in foods you can only find in Louisiana, like Zapp's Chips, crawfish pies, and boudin eggrolls. Even the staff was able to get in on the deliciousness.
Our residents couldn't "TACO" enough about the fun they had this week during National Taco Day.
With this cooler weather, the residents couldn't wait to get their apartments ready for Fall with some wreath making.
Nothing says fall like homemade popcorn balls.
Some of our longtime residents were able to show some newer residents one of their favorite games...bean bag baseball.
Mercedes, a dining room server in one of our Brookdale communities, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
Nothing was going to stop Ms. Lucille's family from celebrating her birthday. She was so happy to be able to visit with them and enjoy some birthday cake.
