We took a "bite" out of the day, while we celebrated Shark Week with snacks, drinks, good company, games, and to top it all off, a visit from a shark!
Wishing everybody a fun, safe, and very patriotic 4th of July!
Spreading a little patriotism this afternoon for our residents with some patriotic sing-a-longs, pigs in a blanket, berries and you cannot go wrong with some ice cold lemonade to wash it all down with. We even had a resident who wanted to participate in saying the Pledge of Allegiance for everyone. We hope everyone has a Happy Independence Day and that it is a *blast*!
As our Brookdale communities begin to reopen, we will be following all precautionary guidelines to protect the health and well-being of those living and working in our communities. Watch below to learn the strategic steps we're taking to safely begin reopening our communities.
We had a blast today with country music, pulled pork and coleslaw for our snack straight off of our BBQ Truck. We were so glad to bring smiles to the residents' faces! We would like to thank all the families who virtually joined us today in saying hello to their loved ones as well as the friends they have made here since they have had their mom, dad, brother or sister at our community. It means a lot to them to see familiar faces! Stay tuned for next week and look out for another Zoom invitation in your inbox. We hope you join us.
We want to give a huge shout out to Judy Lowman for donating Mary Kay items to our staff to say "thank you". We appreciate you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We had such a great day making our owl door hangers that we had to make more! I think the smiles on their faces show how much fun they had doing this craft.
Our walk to end Alzheimer’s didn’t look the way it normally looks this year, but we still showed up and raised some money! We want to thank all the families and friends of our community for coming out and joining us as we walk to end this awful disease. 💜
Yo ho ho off to Brookdale we go! Pirates have landed at Brookdale Lake Ridge for a scrumptious lunch with our shipmates. A great time was had by all. Keep a lookout for our luncheon next week our theme is the Super 70s!
We had a great day making these owl door hangers with the residents they did a fantastic job!
The luau is not the same this year without our families. This is one of our biggest parties of the year! The residents enjoyed Hawaiian food and ended with performance with some very talented hula dancers.
What better way to start the Fall season than with an apple tasting! The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Tasting five different types of apples, Gala, SnapDragon, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Fuji. It was a hard choice to pick the favorite out of all the apples, but we came to the conclusion that our residents favored the Honeycrisp. They enjoyed having Nutella along with Carmel to top off their favorite apple at the end. This is a favorite of the season.

“There is no right or wrong when it comes to making art, making sure you have fun is the most important part, splash a little paint, draw a little line, just make sure that you have fun each and every time.” -Mickey Mouse-
