We will be celebrating each day of this week differently to help celebrate our staff and residents! We are grateful for our family here at Brookdale Marysville and we know that it wouldn't be possible without all the support from our staff, residents, and families. Happy Staff Appreciation Week!
Each of our staff has a specially designed envelop their peers and residents can write a thank you card or notes of appreciation. At the end of next week, staff will receive their envelopes full of words of praise! Now more than ever we are thankful to have such a dedicated staff team that goes above and beyond to make sure our residents are cared for.
We are proud to be named #1 in Customer Satisfaction in Assisted Living/Memory Care in the J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Senior Living Satisfaction Study. This honor is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our teams. http://bkd.co/6186pDRv8
Thank you to all the veterans who have sacrificed for our freedoms!
Today we honored our veterans with special recognition at lunch today. Each vet received a thank you card, certificate, flowers, and a flag. Jack, a beloved resident, and a US Army Veteran gave a speech over Armistice Day and the history of Marysville War monuments.
On behalf of Brookdale Marysville, thank you to all of our servicemen and women.
Out of an abundance of caution and due to the rapidly changing situation in Union County, we have decided to temporarily pause indoor and outdoor visitations effective immediately. All visitations on the books for the next couple of days will be canceled. Window visits will be allowed to proceed.
While this situation is unfortunate, we are best served when the health and safety of our residents, families, and staff are put first. We will keep you posted on this situation as we continue to collaborate with the Union County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Health, and our Brookdale leadership teams.
Thank you for your understanding!

We "rocked it out" yesterday to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. For every minute a resident rocked we donated a dollar. We ended up raising over $200 at our Rock-A-Thon! We will still be selling candy bars for $1 and dressing casual for a cause on Fridays to continue to raise for the Alzheimer's Association.
Our CB residents wanted to join in the snowman fun this week. They were smart and decided to stay warm while they played in the snow. ❄️ ☃️ We think their smiles say it all with how much they enjoyed this activity.
We would like to let people know that they can come to build snowmen for residents as long as there is still snow on the ground! We had such a fun time yesterday making the residents laugh with our poorly made snowmen.
Check out the article the Columbus Dispatch wrote about this activity!

What do you do when seniors can't make snowmen? You build snowmen outside their windows
When Bill and Louise began considering senior living options for Bill's sister, Pam, the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine became a major point of interest for their next steps. Now, after receiving the vaccine and transitioning to her new community, Pam is an official resident of Brookdale Cary.
This weekend we celebrated Phyllis's 83rd birthday! Join us in celebrating this wonderful woman! Happy Birthday, Phyllis!
Are you and your kids looking for something to do with all this snow? Help spread some cheer to our residents and build snowmen outside their apartments! Feel free to stop out here and pick a window to build in front of. Our residents would love to see children playing and making something for them to smile at!

There's no better way to end the week than with some puppy love. Nora came to visit us today, and the residents loved it. However, we think Nora enjoyed their company even more with all the extra pets and scratches.
