Couldn't have asked for better weather and greater friendships as we enjoy our last BBQ of the season.
We sure hope your weekend is as sweet as these photos of little Sophie giving Lucille some love.
It's beginning to look like fall here in our community. We can tell cold weather is right around the corner!
📌 Wildfire Update | September 16 📌
We are happy to report that the residents of Brookdale Medford have been cleared to return home. We are fortunate that the building did not sustain damage from the nearby smoke of the wildfire and that we are able to get residents settled back in their homes so quickly.
We are maintaining our infectious disease protocols, especially when it comes to COVID-19, to help protect the health and wellbeing of our residents, including following guidance provided by the Oregon Department of Human Services.
We thank our residents, their families and our dedicated associates for all the support during the evacuation.

📌Wildfire Update | September 9📌
We continue to stay in close contact with local authorities and monitor the situation near Medford.
While the situation seems to be less of a threat to the building, our residents will remain in their temporary accommodations for the time being. Only when the area has been declared safe for return and the building assessed and cleaned, would we be able to return residents to their home community. The return to a community after an evacuation involves many steps. When a return happens, we would make that announcement here, in addition to contacting the residents that left with friends or families.
Returns have not been cleared at this time.

📌 Grizzly Creek Wildfire Update | September 9 📌
As of Tuesday evening, parts of Medford were under evacuation orders. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated our Brookdale Medford community. The residents are being relocated to a Hilton Garden Inn in Corvallis, Oregon.
We are committed to the safety and well-being of our residents. We have detailed plans in place that include staging transportation to move residents to a safer area with accompanying care associates, providing temporary accommodations as well as food, beverages and an adequate supply of face coverings, hand sanitizer and disinfectants to care for residents.
We will update our Facebook page with updated information as we receive it. Please refer to our Brookdale Newsroom for the most accurate information:

Introducing our new Dining Services Director, Chef Joseph! He discovered his love for cooking at the young age of 16 where he worked in restaurants. He received his Culinary Diploma in 2007 and in 2008 became a certified Culinarian. In 2009 he took 3rd place out of 57 chefs in Oregon at the Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute. Chef Joseph joined Senior Living in 2012. He found his love and passion for serving seniors and making an impact on residents' day to day lives is the reason he has never returned back to restaurants. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife Casaundra and their 2 sons. We are very excited to welcome Chef Joseph to the Brookdale Medford team.
