We celebrated an important milestone this afternoon! Our beloved resident, Pearl Cohen, turned 100 years old today! When asked what her secret to longevity is, she answered: “I eat oatmeal every day and I just keep moving!” Thanks for the advice Pearl, and enjoy 100! #WhatCarriesUsForward
A week wrap up: we had a great time handing out healthy meals at our Grab-and-Go event this week. A huge thank you to our kitchen staff for putting together a healthy meal of salmon, rice, and salad! Keep an eye out for more of our upcoming events!

While Veterans Day was on Wednesday, remember that we shouldn’t limit showing our gratitude to those who have served to just one day a year. Thanking a veteran for their service is something we should continuously be doing.

Congratulations to Jeremy Casner on being January’s Everyday Hero at Brookdale Northbrook. Jeremy is our Sous Chef and has been with Northbrook since March 2020. He has done an outstanding job creating delicious meals for our residents. He is very outgoing, kindhearted, and works very hard to please our residents. Jeremy is a very strong leader within our Dining Services, and we are very fortunate to have Jeremy on our Brookdale Northbrook team. We are very proud of you and keep up the great work.
Our vaccine clinic was a huge success! It started with our favorite 104-year-old resident and finished with many happy vaccinated people later! Thanks to the great team from CVS for their incredible support!
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
