We practice social distancing at Brookdale Ocean House. That makes entertainment difficult. We've found a creative way for our residents to enjoy live music and entertainment and still be safe!
Our entertainers perform on our front balcony and rear parking lot. Residents stand on their balconies or at their windows. We enjoy music and wine at our mobile Happy Hour!
Every member of the Brookdale Ocean House staff takes great pride in serving the residents who mean so very much to us. Family members recognize the dedication and care each Associate puts into our Community
All meals may have to be served in residents' apartments but that doesn't stop our Dining Team from preparing delicious, nutritious, and well presented food - especially on Mother's Day. Our residents dined on Orange Glazed Cornish Hen, Grilled Lam Chops and Shrimp Fettucine with all the trimmings, champagne, mimosas, and all ladies received a lovely rose to boot!
The annual Mother's Day Tea sponsored by the Resident Programs Department at Ocean House is always a grand affair. We couldn't let a pandemic interfere! But since we are always cognizant of safety we did a Tea Cart Mother's Day this year. Chef Joe and his staff prepared perfect ingredients for High Tea and Carole and staff delivered tea, sandwiches, pastries, and gifts via mobile cart to all the ladies in the building via tea carts! A wonderful day for everyone.
One of our amazing residents, Petrea Threatt, decided to publish an Ocean House newsletter. She has done all this from her apartment via phone and email! One of the dedicated columns she published is a series of thank you notes to the wonderful staff in our community. We do it because we love it!!!
COVID-19 won't let us host birthday parties but Roothie can still celebrate her's in her apartment with a special cupcake from the dining room!
Social distancing doesn't keep our residents from staying physically fit! B-Fit Senior Exercises are held every day in our lobby with masks and appropriate distancing so everyone stays healthy.
Birthday celebrations are NOT a thing of the past! At Ocean House we make sure residents are honored and recognized on their special day. With proper distancing and masks, we are able to deliver Birthday cheer and well-wishes with cards, balloons, flowers, and a special cake!
New Year's Eve continued at Ocean House with an incredible menu from our fine chefs and socially distanced entertainment. Shrimp, lamb, duck, great sides and beautiful desserts helped us welcome 2021.
Who says you can't celebrate New Year's Eve during COVID? A champagne and hot appetizer mobile cart was just the start of a great celebration. Thanks to Chef Joe for all the hard work.
A very happy holiday to all from the associates and residents of Ocean House!
Residents enjoy socially distanced a cappella holiday song caroling at Ocean House. We're finding ways to celebrate the season and still be safe.
Mac F. just published his first book of poetry at 101 years old! The book chronicles Mac's life over the last century and is great reading. Congratulations, Mac!
