While this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events will be different, they continue to be deeply meaningful. They continue to help raise awareness about the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. They continue to help raise funds that make a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s. Brookdale Senior Living Inc. continues to be one of the largest corporate supporters of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year, thousands of Brookdale associates, residents, and patients are participating in or supporting virtual walks across the country.

The OL Health Talk for September is Movement is Medicine.
Regular physical activity is the closest thing we have to the fountain of youth. The frailty of old age is reversible, age-related changes can be slowed or even reversed. It does not matter how old you are or what shape you are in now.
A consistent exercise routine can help you to:
Lower your risk of heart disease
Control of blood sugar and insulin
Improve your mood
Maintain brain health as you get older
Increase and maintain muscle strength and bone density
Lower your risk of cancers
Lower your fall risk
Get a better night’s sleep
Live longer
Exercising can be a feel-good experience when you discover the
kind of motions that your body enjoys. May you find an exercise
that brings you health, happiness, and the pure joy of moving
with ease!
