What a great day, we started with bowling π³ which was such fun. The residents decided to have a musical afternoon while others sang, so much fun. We all needed a boost in morale, and this helped tremendously!
What a fun and beautiful craft. π» We have an amazing resident and her favorite thing is crafting. So today she taught this crafting class. We made these awesome flower bowls with little lights in them. We also added a number of other fun things to them. They turned out great!
This beautiful lady celebrated her 85th birthday π her family brought her a huge cake and the entire community was able to enjoy the day with her from their own apartments. We also put up yard decorations for her as well out side her window. It was a great day for all.
This has been a fun few days getting to know these lovely ladies. Please meet Donna and her 2 sweet girls, Elsa and Fancy. They are so sweet and we just love having them as part of our extended family. Then meet Ray, she is also a new member of our family. She loves doing these art pages every day. She has a new one she is working on now. They are so beautiful. Here is a huge welcome to our Brookdale family.
This warmed our hearts. The staff of Idaho Central Credit Union made up two goodie baskets, one for our residents and one for our staff. They were great! They had puzzles, paint sets, chips, candy, and pens. They also included other fun things such as letters from their staff to let our residents know they are loved and thought about by many people outside of their homes. Itβs so amazing to me to see the good and not just the bad that happens in the world. π€
Great day today!! Residents had a social hour in the dinning room. They had a good laugh at the masks they were wearing and sitting alone at individual tables. We had root beer floats and played a game called Things. This game draws some very fun and sometimes hilarious responses. We all had a great time seeing friends at a distance π

Please meet the two most recent members of our family. Carol and Doris are both so amazing, fun and kind. We are all so excited to welcome them into our community. We cannot wait to get to know them.
What an amazing and beautiful surprise. This lovely lady was sitting at the piano playing beautiful music. Jean is one of our newest residents, and she apparently has many talents. π
What a fun crafting group we had today. We made these awesome door hangers, ate fresh sliced pears, and laughed till our sides hurt. We just canβt wait till the next craft to come along. Until the next time, have a great day!π
Happy Veterans Day! As we honored our veterans both residents and staff we are reminded of how blessed and grateful we are for these selfless and amazing people. Thank you π
We are so blessed to celebrate this beautiful ladyβs 84th birthday. She was so grateful that our cook made her favorite meal. We all sang happy birthday to her. She tearfully expressed her deepest gratitude. It's moments like this that make our jobs rewarding and fun.πβ€οΈπ€
Here we have some of our residents exercising by doing B-fit programs. Our B-fit instructor has been an aerobics instructor and has also worked closely with physical therapists. She has incorporated the B-fit program along with some of the things she has learned in her life to bring a fun and new twist to the class. Residents love this and state they feel it has helped them in many ways. They look forward to more new fun things to keep them sharp and strong. ππͺ
Halloween and we are all on a sugar high!! We have had cookies, candy, and a lot of laughs with both staff and residents. Weβd like to send a great big happy Halloween to one and all!!
Until we are back to small group activities, we are doing them one at a time, and we are having fun!! We made these adorable sock gnomes. We are blessed with a resident that loves to craft, and we asked her to teach us how to make them. Adorable right?
Wow! Are we all happy to be saying farewell to 2020? We are so looking forward to 2021. Hopefully a lot more togetherness and if not more fun and exciting one to one fun. Ray and Julieann are toasting in the year with anticipation for a great new year! πππ
This amazing lady knows how to brighten everyoneβs day! Here she is chilling with her Gnomies. Debbie is one of the happiest people we know. She always says how blessed she is and has the spirit of giving all year round as you can see she has a flair for bringing a smile to everyone she meets.π
Today was a special day. We did our gift giving and the residents were so happy. It was the most heart warming experience. There were smiles, laughs, tears and so many thank youβs. Christmas is the most amazing time. It brings out the best in people of all over.ππππ
Santa did window visits today. The smiles were priceless; they were grinning from ear to ear. Santa was so kind and wished he could do more. He did tell jokes, the best one was that he was santatized π lol. He brought so much joy and love, thanks Santa!
Katie wanted to show off her new Christmas shirt. After reading it, we're right there with her, one week at a time.
