Helping our residents vote! Please meet the lovely 101-year old Shirley Green! Shirley shared with us that her first Presidential vote was in 1932 when she went to the polls with her father. She recalled, "It was one of the most exciting things I have done and I have been doing it ever since". We are happy to help Shirley continue with her lifelong commitment to casting her vote.
We are still bowling! Brookdale Quincy Bay is located on the original location of The Wonder Bowl, a tenpin and candlepin bowling alley that was a landmark on Southern Artery for a quarter-century. Many of our residents remember bowling there and now they do it virtually with Wii Sports.
An October tradition at Quincy Bay, the painting of pumpkins! Our residents showed off their creative flare this year.
Hello from Quincy Bay's "OFD" (Originally From Dorchester) Club! We were able to come together again today for the first time in many months. This group was formed over a year ago as more residents realized they were all "OFDers" with so much in common including their fond memories of growing up in Boston's largest and most diverse neighborhood. Today's quote from this lovely group of ladies is "Once a Dot Girl always a Dot Girl!"

We were off to Britain recently when we traveled through the community with our "Travel Britain Cart", which included a Travel Guide along with English tea and biscuits. Along the way, we had the opportunity to reminisce with a few residents about their travels to Britain. Laura C. featured with a scarf she brought back from London on one of her four trips talked about how it is her favorite place to travel. Ruth E. shared how she had traveled there many times while visiting other parts of the world and feeling fortunate she was able to do so.
The CDC strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccine and it’s so important that as many people as possible get vaccinated. We will be having our second vaccine clinic on February 7th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for community residents and associates who are interested in receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Getting vaccinated will help protect you, your friends, family and other members of your community. Learn more about our efforts around the COVID-19 vaccine here:
