Happy Birthday, Carol and Sharon! Hope both of your days are as awesome as you ladies are.
During Assisted Living Week, we made these unique and cute Zen Gardens! Seashells are from the ocean and the colored sand was fun to play with.
The residents and families had a chatty time visiting their loved ones on Grandparents Day.
The families also received banana bread or pumpkin cookies to snack on while they visited. Thank you all so much!
Welcome, Carol to Brookdale Kirwin. She was welcomed by getting pampered with nail painting!
We might not be able to take a stroll in the park, but we can in the parking lot! The residents are enjoying watching the veterinary clinic being built every day! What are you all enjoying doing right now?
We had a cloudy funday Friday outside under the awning! The breeze blew through our hair and cooled us off!
These ladies were on cloud nine when asked to make dessert for dinner! Allie, Marykay, Sylvia, and Carol peeled a 3-gallon bucket of freshly picked apples for easy apple pie bites. RPC Rachel sliced and cored the apples and soaked them in a lemon juice bath until all apples were cut. Homemade cream cheese icing to top it off. This dessert was a huge hit among all the residents.
Mary J hosted a jewelry party and everyone got a free piece of jewelry — it just so happens it was edible too. They enjoyed the ring pops very much!
Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day we stand united and respect you, our veterans. This holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service and was originally called Armistice Day. Thank you to our heroes Richard and Darwin for your service
Look at our black cats, do you dare cross its path?
Our Halloween party was fun and residents had a ghoulishly good time with frosted and decorated cupcakes for dessert. Everyone played 5 different games, and the last event was the photo booth! Can you guess who these masked people are?
You are invited to parade by the front of our building on Halloween between 3-4 pm! Staff will be handing out candy to all the little ghosts and goblins!
Punxsutawney Phil came to our building early this morning and delivered cookies. The residents were so surprised that the cookie to eat first was a chocolate one. He saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter! BRRRRR!
Happy 160th birthday Kansas! These ladies are working very hard on dessert for lunch. Kansas dirt cups and of course we have worms!
Leona enjoyed playing catch, she also did her feet and arm exercises between throws!
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
Leona is doing a panda puzzle to keep herself busy. She loves working on puzzles and was
all SMILES when we brought it to her.
The residents will be getting a sweet snack of chocolate drizzled pretzels Mixed with M&Ms!
