While this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events will be different, they continue to be deeply meaningful. They continue to help raise awareness about the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. They continue to help raise funds that make a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s. Brookdale Senior Living Inc. continues to be one of the largest corporate supporters of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year, thousands of Brookdale associates, residents, and patients are participating in or supporting virtual walks across the country.

Technology is such a blessing, this amazing couple has been married for over 72 years and at this time they are not under the same roof. They were so very excited when they were finally able to see one another. This was so special for them both although they couldn’t touch they said this is the next best thing!
The Brookdale Salisbury Putters continue improving their putting skills. It is always so much fun to see their skills at work.

We created beautiful festive jars. These residents were given materials and they all asked, "Well how is it supposed to look?" They were told to use their imagination to create it the way they wanted it to look. These are how they turned out. They are all different and so creative.
When Bill and Louise began considering senior living options for Bill's sister, Pam, the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine became a major point of interest for their next steps. Now, after receiving the vaccine and transitioning to her new community, Pam is an official resident of Brookdale Cary.

Our residents were asked to begin the new year by trying something new. This month we challenged our residents to write a poem or rhyme about their stay at Brookdale. The residents had a few weeks to work on them and then they were judged anonymously by staff. Our winner was announced with the highest votes the poem titled Walking The Halls.
