Today the ladies made homemade fall wreaths. It was pretty simple and fun. We even had one left over to donate to someone who didn’t have a wreath.

While this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s events will be different, they continue to be deeply meaningful. They continue to help raise awareness about the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. They continue to help raise funds that make a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s. October is in full swing! Our ladies in Clare Bridge helped us paint some black pumpkins, which will be decorated with special chalkboard markers later in the month.
Nancy has a newfound love for puzzles, and she is quite good at them!
Adriel and Charlie have become best of friends here at Brookdale. Adriel has been on staff for three years. He started in the kitchen washing dishes and transferred to a caregiver role. He is friendly and helpful and the residents get a kick out of seeing Charlie sitting on his shoulder. Charlie has lived with us for approximately ten years and everyone loves him!
With a little help from friends, we created this pretty centerpiece in the lobby. Now... if only it doesn’t topple over!
Violet has lived in our community for just over two years. She is funny, creative, quick as a whip, and so affectionate. Our lifelike baby dolls bring her such comfort! When she isn’t holding a baby, she is probably cuddling with her Joy for All Companion Cat or singing and clapping along to some Elvis tunes. We sure do love her!

Mary Lou enjoys visiting her daughters via Zoom, but sometimes it is difficult to hear. With this retro handset plugged into the IPad hearing is much easier!
When Bill and Louise began considering senior living options for Bill's sister, Pam, the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine became a major point of interest for their next steps. Now, after receiving the vaccine and transitioning to her new community, Pam is an official resident of Brookdale Cary.

This is the traveling plant cart that went to residents' apartments so they could plant some succulents. We will have an indoor plant garden that the residents will tend to. Many have gardened all their adult lives and were so happy to put their hands into the potting soil and touch live plants.
