Friday night at the Summerfield Derby! ๐ Residents pick a horse and cheer it down the finish line. Itโs always fun when we win a little money (dimes) too! ๐ฐ
We are officially enjoying fall time here at Brookdale Summerfield! ๐๐๐พ
Each month we recognize a staff member as an Everyday Hero. The Everyday Hero Award goes to an associate who lives our mission daily of enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity. This month we are congratulating Claribel! She has stepped up these last few months as a leader, and weโre glad to have her on our team. Thanks for all you do Clari! ๐ฅณ
Cocktail Club began this month! Our Executive Director, Deena, and the residents get together once a month and make a special cocktail. This month is the Pink Squirrel ๐ธ It was delicious! Stay tuned for next month's creation... ๐
Oh yes, it's ladies' night! Our Summerfield ladies got together tonight in our comfy clothes with our favorite margaritas and popcorn to enjoy a movie night๐ฟ๐นIt was only fitting that we watched โOn The Basis of Sexโ, the story of the brilliant Ruth Bader Ginsburg!
Happy Sunday! Jeanne is all smiles with her birthday flowers! ๐ ๐
Celebrating Oktoberfest at Summerfield. German food, music, and of course beer! ๐ป PROST! [cheers in German ๐)
Summerfield Knitters have been busy knitting these beautiful (and warm) hats! Our knitting group meets once a week, and they are all working on winter hats to donate to a local church who will distribute them to those in need this winter โ๏ธ
**Special thank you to Dorothy who put a few hats aside to give to our staff to thank us for all we do each and every day! ๐
Just two friends enjoying a cup of coffee. Our top priority is keeping our residents and staff healthy and safe, but also maintaining a sense of socialization๐ฏโโ๏ธ
We are honoring 3 more Summerfield Veterans today. Ron, Don, and Jim all served in the US Army. Ron & Don served for 2 years and Jim served for 6! ๐บ๐ธ We are so proud of all of our resident Veterans who served our country, we thank them today and always
Resident recognition time! Today we recognize Betty and Mary. Both ladies volunteer to work in our resident necessity shop every week. They are also the co-presidents of our Resident Council Committee. These ladies meet monthly with our council team to ensure residents' voices are being heard. Thanks to both of these ladies for stepping up as resident leaders! ๐
Part 2 of our Summerfield Serenades!
Today we would like to welcome two new members to our Summerfield team. Natalia joined us as a full-time Security Associate, while Tyler is working both Security and Maintenance with Eric. Weโre excited to be working with them both, and appreciate their commitment to our residents so far!๐
**We have front desk security staff available 24/7. Whether it is an emergency, to a simple TV needs to be rebooted, we are here for our residents. This gives our residents peace of mind knowing that they can call or stop by the desk at any hour, and staff is always accessible!
We would like to take a moment to thank resident Pat and his wonderful family for providing staff with a great breakfast (not pictured are the bagels that didnโt last long enough for this pic!๐) We are so lucky to have such thoughtful families in our Summerfield community!
Happy Veteran's Day! ๐บ๐ธ ๐บ๐ธ This year we had to celebrate a little different; each resident went to their doorway at 12 noon, and we clapped and cheered on all the resident veterans. Staff hand delivered boutonnieres to each veteran. Although it wasn't our typical large gathering celebration like we hoped for, we sure made the best of it! ๐ค ๐
A special thank you to our Executive Director Deena (and her husband!) for sharing these delicious Krispy Kreme donuts with our staff today. Sometimes Monday mornings can be tough, so this nice gesture certainly helps us start the week off right! ๐ฉ ๐
A delicious fall themed treat this weekend! ๐๐๐Apple cider and homemade pumpkin mousse. Thank you to our head Chef Brad for making these, we loved it!๐จโ๐ณ
All smiles going into this sunshine filled weekend!โ๏ธ๐
