Though Mother's Day 2020 may not have been celebrated as in the past, there was no less love and caring shared at Trillium Crossing! Kristina Powers, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing along with other staff members "planted" bright pinwheels all around the community as a special surprise for our residents. Six young women from dining services delivered colorful plants, handwritten notes and delicious cookies decorated by our baker Jenny! To all the women in our lives - grandmothers, mothers, aunts, sisters, daughters and friends - know you are in the hearts of the people you love and who love you no matter the distance.
It takes a special heart to be a nurse. You work tirelessly to provide care and comfort daily, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. To all the superheroes in scrubs, we can’t thank you enough. You are appreciated today and every day. Happy #NationalNursesDay.

As residents and staff at Trillium Crossing are eagerly awaiting our second COVID-19 vaccination clinic on February 5th, we are reminded that remarkable people with remarkable stories live here! When Mr. Menning moved into our community in 2019, we met one of those people. Mr. Menning served in the USAF since 1955 after graduating from The Ohio State University with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Over his many years, he was stationed in such places as Bermuda, Texas, Michigan, and Washington D. C. At his retirement ceremony, he was presented with the Distinguished Service Medal — the highest non-combat award given by the Air Force. So what does that mean? As he chuckled, he said "Who better to oversee herd immunity, a resistance to the spread of an infectious disease in Air Force members worldwide as a result of previous infection or vaccination than a Vet? They could pay me less than an MD." A brief message from Mr. Menning about the pandemic to us all, "This may be the only time in our lives that we can each do one thing to help the world. Get vaccinated to eradicate COVID-19." ~Colonel L. Menning, Retired Assistant Surgeon General of the United States Air Force
One of our dining room servers, Mercedes, has gotten her COVID-19 vaccine. She did it to protect everyone around her!
Efforts towards COVID-19 prevention have become part of our daily lives, and finally a breakthrough is almost here: vaccines are on the verge of FDA approval. As part of a U.S. government program, Brookdale residents and associates will be among the first group to have access to a COVID-19 vaccine when it’s available. Read on to learn more about Brookdale's next step in aiding prevention. BROOKDALE.COM How Brookdale is Getting Ready for the COVID-19 Vaccine
"If you want something done, ask a busy person." At Trillium Crossing Linda fits the bill! Here she is modeling what will soon be an Ohio State Buckeye fleece blanket to be raffled off to one of our avid fans in the community. Can you see the smile behind the mask? 😊
