Ms. Bandurian and Mrs. Kassy both had an interesting FaceTime conversation with Julia, a local high school student who is a part of a pen pal program. Julia discovered that both of our residents were born in Europe, migrated from their home countries, and settled in different cities in the U.S. before having families of their own. They spoke about education and career choices for Julia. Both residents enjoyed sharing their stories and advice; they look forward to speaking with Julia again.

Meet Mrs. Thompson, she has been gracious enough to lend her beautiful voice in singing “Happy Birthday” to all our residents on their birthday. She enjoys doing so and follows up regularly to know whose birthday it is. We treated her to a special cake and thanked her for her special assistance and wished her all the best. Thank you, Mrs. Thompson for accompanying us for the birthday singing.
Mrs. Cochran enjoys decorating her front door for every season for the spirit of the events and holidays observed every month. This was her latest display for the summer. She is in preparation for the fall and will soon present her decorations as well as other residents who look forward to the holidays.

We are grateful for the service of our veterans. Here are some more proud Vets, such as Mr. Ida wearing his Army, 2nd Infantry Division cap. He served in the Korean War and joked that he and his service members were the “frozen chosen” during his time in combat.
We want to give thanks to our veterans of our community for their military service and friendship.
We look forward in honoring and celebrating our community veterans this coming Veterans Day.

We are grateful to have received our Covid vaccines last week. A big “Thank You” to the CVS pharmacy team for their assistance and a special thank you to our residents and associates who received their vaccine to keep our community safe.
Here are some more brave residents who got their vaccine last Tuesday. There is a sense of relief to know we have some protection but still encourage everyone to continue being safe during this time.
The CDC strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccine and it’s so important that as many people as possible get vaccinated. We will be having our second vaccine clinic on February 2nd beginning at 11:00 am for community residents and associates who are interested in receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Getting vaccinated will help protect you, your friends, family and other members of your community. Learn more about our efforts around the COVID-19 vaccine here:
