Completed a brand new altar area at St. Agnes Church in Springfield! The worn out red carpet has been replaced with a Brazilian Cherry #hardwood floor. The curved tiers, risers and tops were particularly challenging but turned out well. Proud of our crew at Brookens Wood Floors who put in the time and skill to craft this space. ⛪️ 🎉 Thank you to all who helped make this happen! 🙏

•The #1 way to prevent gaps:keep your homes at 60°-80° with a Relative Humidity (RH) of 35-55%.
•If a humidifier isn't on when the heater is, then it's likely for gaps to appear.
•Why do gaps happen?
As the temperature goes down and the need to warm our home increases, the relative humidity (RH) in our home lowers.
•With decreased RH, the moisture content in our hardwood floors is reduced causing the flooring to shrink.
•This is why it's common to see gaps show up in wood flooring during the wintertime.
