Buena Vista Eye Care Group was founded in 1984 by Dr. Jorge Cuadros to serve the needs of downtown and eastern San Jose. The residents of this area of town had few choices to receive appropriate eye care, and there is a tremendous need. Through an innovative, efficient and technologically advanced way, he was able to serve this community. Buena Vista expanded to its current, larger location a few years later, occupying a historic, classic craftsman home converted to an inviting office in the beautiful Naglee Park neighborhood of downtown San Jose. This change allowed the office to expand its services of comprehensive eye care, fashion eyewear, advanced contact lens care and eye disease evaluation and treatment to better serve our population.
Dr. Cuadros joined with Dr. Charles Holt to add advanced pediatric eye care which was sorely needed in the office’s population. These services have allowed the practice to serve our youngest patients and help them to see well so they can learn well. Dr. Holt created the Sight2Success program to provide this care.
In 2017, Dr. Mark Mitchell took over the management of Buena Vista, and will be responsible for guiding its further growth and development to always be a valuable health resource for the residents of Silicon Valley.
