Born 1882 Nyak New York
Started drawing at the age of 5
First signed art at the age of 10
1912 he travelled by rail to Gloucester to seek inspiration and made his first outdoor painting Squam Light
Six of Hopper’s Gloucester Watercolors were on exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum
The Mansand Roof was purchased by the Museum for its permanent collection

Artist 👨🎨 Paul Strisik
Strisik was born in Brooklyn, NY
Moved to Rockport, MA in the 1950s
While primarily a New England artist, he also painted European subjects.
Legendary artist Paul Strisik was not the kind of artist you’d find cooped up inside a studio. As one of the great plein air painters of his generation, Paul preferred to be outdoors using the sun to light his subjects.
His years of experience in capturing natural light is displayed in all of his art.
