Earlier this month, we had a litter of 18 Bull Terrier puppies come in for BAER Testing. BVNS performs Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) testing which is used by many breeders and pet owners as a hearing test for dogs and cats! Dr. Barker says that out of 18 ears, only 1 was deaf. πΆπ Can you tell how much our Springfield team loved these pups?! β¨

WMDF would not be able to continue to raise awareness and educate pet owners to become proactive in their pet's health without the wonderful support from our sponsors like Bush Veterinary Neurology Service. Many of our pets would not be here today without the help and guidance of the gifted neurosurgeons and staff of BVNS. Meet Buckley. He is a survivor thanks to BVNS. BVNS.net

At BVNS, we are not just a means to an end. We build relationships with our clients and patients and forge bonds that last for years. Stallone, a neuro patient of Dr. Jarboe for several years, recently passed away. His owners shared this sweet, framed photo of them together π Here are a few words from their post:
"Joli was Stalloneβs neurologist, and for anyone that knows Joli, they know how amazing she is. She is a kind, loving soul. There really are no words to thank this beautiful woman for the amazing medical care, the unconditional love for Stallone, and the friendship they formed in the process."

#BVNSHappyPatients Meet Dobby!
Dobby presented to BVNS Richmond in December 2020 for vestibular dysfunction. When he was 3 days old, he was bitten on the head by his mother and he had difficulty with balance ever since. He had a right head tilt, dizzy spells, and often fell over when he was tired. After a brain MRI, he was diagnosed with congenital hydrocephalus due to the traumatic brain injury. Dr. Higginbotham prescribed omeprazole to reduce the amount of fluid being produced in his brain. This is Dobby after one month and he's looking more and more like a free elf. π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ±πΆ
#BVNSHappyPatients Meet Peggy!
This black and white Cavachon first presented in July 2020 when she was 8 weeks old for vestibular symptoms. We performed an MRI that revealed an inflammatory disease. She was started on medications and has been doing well at home! Here she is all grown up at her most recent recheck with Dr. Erin Akin and Dani, our vet assistant. We are so happy she is doing well!
