Education
Dr. Blake Smith was born and raised in Alabama. He attended Auburn University at Montgomery for his undergraduate studies graduating summa cum laude. He then headed to the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, finishing top in his class. Dr. Smith stayed in Birmingham to graduate with high honors from the prestigious University of Alabama School of Medicine. Following an internship in general surgery, he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, serving as Chief Resident in 2014. During his training, he had the opportunity to operate with distinguished facial, esthetic, and plastic surgeons. In order to complete his surgical skills, Dr. Smith moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he completed an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery accredited fellowship under the past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Smith is experienced in the most innovative surgical techniques ensuring he can meet his primary goal of patient satisfaction.

Dr. Smith is double board certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Career Path/Organizations
As a leader in the field, Dr. Smith has lectured nationally on a variety of topics ranging from facial reconstruction to full body and facial cosmetic surgery. He has served as faculty on numerous live surgery workshops. He has authored publications on facelifts, eyelid surgery, and cosmetic rhinoplasty. Since 2015, Dr. Smith has practiced full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
The Current Practice
In July 2019, he joined Dr. Clark and Dr. Holmes at the state-of-the-art outpatient surgery facility located in the historic Southside neighborhood of Birmingham. They have locations in Trussville, Gardendale and in the community of Inverness. The group offers a wide range of treatments, including extractions, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, cosmetic surgery, and reconstructive procedures.
