Dr. C. Gene Wilkins is more than your typical optometrist. Not only does he have a passion for helping patients of all ages see clearly and maintain their best eye health, but he also has a passion for helping children overcome vision-related learning problems. For more than 20 years, at his practice in Cypress, California, Dr. Wilkins and his friendly staff have given each patient their individual attention so they receive the best vision care available.
A graduate of Los Angeles College of Optometry, Dr. Wilkins also has extensive postgraduate education in the area of vision-related learning concerns. In this respect, he has worked as a consultant for Cypress Elementary School, and Magnolia and Anaheim Union High Schools. Dr. Wilkins frequently speaks about vision topics in various schools and community organizations.
Dr. Wilkins is a member of several professional organizations, including the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, and the National Academy of Sports Vision. Dr. Wilkins is also a consultant to the Lions Eye Foundation of Southern California.
In addition to his extensive training and experience in vision care, Dr. Wilkins is certified to administer both preoperative and postoperative LASIK care for patients undergoing LASIK vision correction surgery. And, beyond routine eye exams and vision care needs, Dr. Wilkins is licensed to treat eye infections and remove foreign bodies from the eye, should the occasion arise.
