Last week we posted the exterior of a home in Old West Austin that was just completed, here is the interior! We were able to salvage the hardwood floors of the home that was originally on the lot and use them for the wooden accents around the house. We love to recycle building materials whenever possible and keep up with the latest green building innovations.
The construction of this charming home in old west Austin has just been completed! We were able to salvage all of the original hardwood floors from the previous home that was removed from the site and revamp them for the new and improved design! Nestled into the trees, with deep porches on the front and back, to create shade. The high ceilings in the main living portion of the home allow for heat rise while the small traditional hacienda style windows above allow light to enter the room with hardly any heat gain. The cool tile floors assist with heat dissipation throughout the home. All in all a dream home for the Texas Hill Country.
