BIOGRAPHY
After graduating from Johns Hopkins with a double major in Biomedical and Materials Engineering, Dr. Dyer attended medical school at Vanderbilt University graduating in 1988. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County program and then a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship here in Nashville.
Dr. Dyer’s engineering and sports background combine well with his orthopaedic interests in shoulder, knee and hip surgery. He has significant experience in the latest arthroscopic surgical techniques and reconstruction of arthritic joints. He has experience with anterior hip replacement, minimally invasive knee replacement and shoulder replacement.
Dr. Dyer represents Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance on community panels for Workers' Compensation injuries and also performs Independent Medical Examinations as part of his practice.
Dr. Dyer has held numerous medical staff appointments at Skyline and Hendersonville Medical Centers including Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery. He is currently Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Skyline Medical Center. He has been the team physician for Tennessee State University since 2004 and long term care of Sumner County high school programs. He worked with the Ohio Valley Conference and the NCAA for Regional and National tournaments.
Away from work, Dr. Dyer spends his free time with his 3 grown children as they head to college and beyond. He enjoys traveling and is an avid swimmer and runner, competing in running races throughout the area.
