About

We’ve always had a fresh approach to fitness.
In 1928, our founder had what was then a radical idea: he wanted to build a club where men, women, and children could enjoy fitness, fine dining, outdoor recreation, and the beauty of Lake Calhoun.
That dream faced plenty of challenges. At the time, women and children were forbidden in private clubs. The market crashed in 1929, World War II erupted, and the property faced financial obstacles.
But in the spirit of the Calhoun Beach Club, all those hurdles were overcome. In 1976, the club was reopened and has since fulfilled its original intent: a place where members come to strengthen their bodies and community.
Today you’ll find a spotless fitness center with 40,000 square feet of amenities, and a staff that understands your goals and greets you by name. We think our founder would be proud of what Calhoun Beach Club has become. We sure are.

There are many ways to make and enjoy this coffee treat, here’s how we’re whippin’ ours - In a blender add equal parts coffee and milk, sugar to taste and ice. Blend together until a smoothie like consistency. Pour into a glass, add a straw and enjoy, cheers! Craving something a bit more sweet? Try adding chocolate and topping with whipped cream.
