Dr. Hobbs completed his Bachelor of Science from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry in 1977. He obtained ancillary pre-medical studies at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1975. He then received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 1981. Dr. Hobbs completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he was voted “Chief Resident of the Year” during his final year of residency.
Dr. Hobbs has remained active in academic medicine, teaching resident physicians and medical students. He serves as a clinical associate professor in both the Obstetrics and Gynecology and Family Medicine departments at Augusta University, as well as a clinical instructor for Ross University School of Medicine and UMHS School of Medicine.
