Here’s a young woman (Ali Rogan) interviewed on the PBS Newshour recently about her newly-published book Beat Breast Cancer Like A Boss. Her book highlights 30 women, famous and not so famous, whose stories offer encouragement, role models, coping mechanisms and strategies for patients and survivors alike. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/this-book-of-breast-cancer-survival-stories-seeks-to-foster-solidarity PBS.ORG This book of breast cancer survival stories seeks to foster solidarity
On Sunday our co-founder, Roxana Cannon Arsht, was recognized as one of Delaware's ten history-making women by The News Journal/DelawareOnline.com. Roxana and Delaware native Meg Maley combined their professional work with a passion for people affected by cancer and in 2000 established Cancer Care Connection. Their vision was to provide a service to people touched by the ripple effect of cancer - stress, emotions, fears, caregiving as well as answers to practical questions - "side effects" that can't be treated with medicine. Roxana was the first female judge in Delaware and chances are you've seen buildings named in her honor at the University of Delaware and ChristianaCare. So next time you happen to glance up at Roxana Arsht's name, thank her on behalf of the thousands of people who have been touched and supported by her vision over these last 20 years.
