About

COVID-19 Update: For all our hardworking friends, we’re happy to now be able to offer three ways of shopping at select Carhartt locations: Social distance shopping, appointment based shopping, and curbside pick-up. Whichever option you’re most comfortable with, you can trust that Carhartt will continue to do everything in our power to serve and protect hardworking people in the safest, fastest, and most efficient ways possible. Welcome back!

Carhartt has been proudly serving the hard working community since its founding in 1889. It started off in Detroit and became a wholesaler across the United States. After 120 years, Carhartt decided to cater directly to its customers, offering them a world-class customer service face-to-face. Now a few more years down the road, they’re opening retail stores across the U.S. We couldn’t be happier that they have decided to plant a store right here in the heart of Nebraska.

Nebraska is known for its rich farmlands and tightly woven communities from which its children thrive and grow. The culture here in Nebraska is what makes it such a great place to put a retail store like Carhartt. Papillion, NE has been voted one of the top ten places to live in the U.S. So what better place to plant one of these iconic retail stores, than in the heart of the city of Papillion. The store sits at 7640 Towne Center Pkwy in Papillion, Nebraska within the Shadow Lake Towne Center, just off of the corner of 72nd and Highway 370. We couldn’t have picked a better location, with Offutt Air Force Base less than 10 miles from us and surrounded by Factories, Warehouses, Railroads, Farms and Medical Universities; We are ready to help serve the working people of Nebraska!

Though we are now located in the heart of the Mid-West, our store reflects back to our beginnings in Detroit with our wood and metal fixtures both inside the store and out. Our rustic charm meets contemporary design as worn looking carts, dark metal beams, and accents match our warm wood finishes in an open floor plan. Behind our registers is a screw art mural, with a screen print of Carhartt’s founder, Hamilton Carhartt. The quote that is beside him reads, “I believe when I make a sale I make a permanent friend.” We want that message to pass around and stick in the minds of our customers here in Nebraska; so that they can become more than just our customer and know what it means to be part of the culture of Carhartt and our dedicated investment in them. We’ve always tried to bring the best world-class work wear to our customers and believe in supporting the hard workers here in the Heartland. We here at Carhartt are proud to serve the area with our products and hope to embody that great quality as well as the standards they have, within our service.

Meet blacksmiths Elizabeth Belz and Anne Bujold, who teamed up earlier this year to compete in The Austin Forging Competition. Prior to taking classes at Penland School of Craft 15 years ago, neither were aware that blacksmithing was still a burgeoning field. But Elizabeth and Anne want you to know that if you’re interested in molding metal to your will as you stand before flames, hammer in hand—you are completely capable of doing so. We know the legacy of the incredible women who answered the call to action during WWII. Women like 21 year-old Eunice Hancock, pictured here in Carhartt style coveralls, operating a compressed-air grinder in a Midwest aircraft motor plant in 1942. What you may not know is that workers like Eunice were outfitted by another crew of hardworking women—the Carhartt sewing team. Each team served their cause and country, supporting each other from one factory floor to another.
