“During my treatment at Caron and my subsequent 10 years of recovery, I’ve learned how to recognize my sadness, my emptiness and my grief. The tools I developed during and after treatment empowered me to see what was happening and to turn around and reach out for help. I want people to know that they never have to suffer in silence. Whether they have a day of sobriety or 20 years – it’s okay to reach out when you are struggling. Even though you think you’ve got it together – you do need that fellowship and support and you can still pick up the phone and make the call. There is hope.” Caron alumna Laura Huffman spoke with SJ Magazine about how her recovery program empowered her to know when to ask for help during challenging times. SJMAGAZINE.NET Lonely & Alone
