Rug Cleaning Process

Spot Cleaning Tips I wanted to share some tips for spotting carpet. I'll save rugs and upholstery for another post. No matter how big the "disaster" don't panic. its easier than you think to make things worse. First contain the stain-this means get up what you can before adding anything to it. For liquids BLOT-do not rub- with a paper or cloth towel. Use increasing pressure until all is absorbed. For semi solids scrape up with spatula then blot. For red clay LET DRY COMPLETELY then vacuum before cleaning. Apply spot cleaner directly to carpet, agitate gently with fingers or spoon handle ( no brushes) , blot with clean towel. Repeat as necessary. Do not work an area larger than 3" at once. For larger spots divide into small areas work from outside to center to keep spot from spreading.
