Did You Know? Cotton Candy was invented by a DENTIST?! Machine-spun cotton candy was created in 1897 by dentist William Morrison and confectioner John C, Wharton. The creation was first introduced as “Fairy Floss” at the 1904 World’s Fair for 25 cents a box.

Happy #WorldKindnessDay! Make sure to spread kindness like confetti today!
Carson City Pediatric Dentistry updated their business hours.
Happy Veterans Day! We want to thank all the veterans who have served our country.
We bought back 177 pounds of candy and collected donations from the community. We delivered the candy to Operation Gratitude to be sent to deployed troops, local military units, veterans and first responders. Thank you for participating with us again this year!
Today's moment of gratitude comes from Dr. John -
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with others in our community. Recently, I had the chance to help a friend's son with his Eagle Scout project. We climbed up to the ‘C’ above Carson City early on a recent Saturday morning and helped arrange it into the identifiable letter that is seen from miles away. We endured hard, physical labor moving boulders for a couple of hours all the while enjoying the sweet spirit of service.
My family recites a motto I our home: “A family that sweats together, sticks together”. I feel this applies to the friendships that we cultivate in our community as well.
This time of year it is easy to get caught up in the superficial nature of consumerism but we need to focus on helping and healing others especially with the pandemic that we have experienced in 2020.

Q: What kind of glue would you use to keep your teeth together?
Dental sealants can be a powerful tool in preventing tooth decay and maintaining a healthy smile for your child. The sealants form a smooth coat over the natural surface of a tooth, making it easier to brush more effectively. We recommend dental sealants as soon as your child’s permanent molars come in. Ask us about sealants at your child’s next visit.

Have your teen’s wisdom teeth started to come in? While it’s always nice to have enough molars to chew food, sometimes there isn’t enough room in their jaws for their wisdom teeth to stay. If your teen’s wisdom teeth start to impact their smile, we will generally recommend taking them out with oral surgery. Meet Dr. Olson known, also known as “Dr. O”.
He is passionate about making your child’s early dental experiences positive to help encourage a positive relationship with the dentist for the rest of their lives. After witnessing a very difficult dental appointment for a child early in his dental schooling, Dr. O decided his mission would be to prevent as many of those terrible appointments as possible and to change kids’ early dental experiences for the better. Upon completing his residency, in 2011 he immediately opened Carson City Pediatric Dentistry. The CCPD and DPD mission is to provide positive dental experiences for your child. He’s an avid Star Wars fan, so when you see Dr. O, ask him some Star Wars trivia see if you can stump him!
March is National Nutrition Month! Did you know you shouldn’t brush your teeth too soon after eating something too acidic or too sweet? You don’t want to brush that stuff into your teeth. Wait about half an hour, swish your mouth with water and then brush!
Congratulations to our Family Floss Challenge winners! Thank you to everyone who participated.
"Saw Doctor Andy. He was awesome! Very patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Had some great pointers and tips to help us with our toddler’s oral hygiene. We highly recommend this dentist to our friends and family." -Ashley S.
Thank you for such a wonderful review Ashley!
