Catherine Juillard, MD, MPH is a trauma surgeon and critical care physician at the University of California, Los Angeles. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from UCLA, where she also completed her general surgery residency training. Dr. Juillard went to the University of California, San Francisco for her fellowship training, where she was the trauma and critical care fellow at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Juillard then joined the faculty at UCSF, where she was the Director of the Center for Global Surgical Studies and the San Francisco Wraparound project before she was recruited to UCLA as Associate Professor InResidence. Her primary research interests seek to address surgical health disparities.
Dr. Juillard also has strong interest in global surgery research to improve access for quality surgical care in low and middle income countries. She has ongoing projects with partners in Cameroon and Uganda with a focus in trauma systems strengthening.
